Hello, I am new to the list and need help in locating a Martha Ann McDonald who married a S.J. Linam in 1854 in Wilcox Co., AL. I find them in Monroe Co., Al in the 1860 census; but cannot find them in 1870 census recordsin AL. She was born in GA., I do not know where in GA. she was born. I can find do record of death for either of them. He fought in the civil war, company A, 4th Alabama Cal ( Russell's ) and was wounded Aug. 1, 1864 at Jonesburough, GA. His service records do not give any information on who his parents were. His birth place was listed as SC on census records. I find him with another wife in 1880 census in Conecuh Co.,AL. and also on 1900 Conecuh Co.,AL with yet another wife. I will really appreciate any help anyone may have to offer me. I thought since Martha was born in GA. maybe she went back to some family there while he was in the war and maybe died there. In the 1880 Conecuh Co, AL. census I find their oldest child listed with three small children. Her name was Evelina. Thank you, Evelyn [email protected]
