I have a copy of a newpaper clipping from a Greene County, GA paper, Thursday, April 16, 1868 which reads as follows: DROWNED Mr. John Kelley, of of the oldest citizens of this county, was drowned in the Oconee River, one day last week. It is thought he fell from a bateau while fishing. Mr. Kelley wa the grandfather of J. F. Hall, of our city. This John Kelley/Kelly was my gg Grandfather. The J. F. Hall mentioned was the brother of my Grandmother, Amanda Hall, who married John T. Hale. I have no other information on this John Kelley/Kelly.
