Dan, why do you believe the children were indentured? Did James McDonald die with no estate? If so, there are bound apprenticeship records housed in the Records Room of the Clarke Co. Courthouse. Also there should be records in the minute books for the Court of Ordinary (now Probate Court) for that time period, but there's no index to these (yet!), so you would have to go thru page by page to locate your family.
