    1. [GaClarke] Virus Warning
    2. Eppy
    3. Hi Folks I do not want to get a discussion going regarding this, but I felt this virus has become serious enough that you needed to know about it. So please do not respond, just be sure to protect your computers!! A new virus has shown up, called the Bugbear and acts somewhat like the virus' of the past few months. It appears that it may a double extension. Also if you are using the wrong version of Internet Explorer, it will infect your computer even if you do not open the attachment. So if you use an online mail within your browser, be sure you upgrade to the latest version to be safe. Better yet.. if you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, you need to upgrade to the current version. The virus works off of a known flaw in IE that the current version has corrected. But never, ever open an attachment that you are not expecting, or from someone you do not know! If you don't have anti-virus software on your computer you need to get it and keep it updated. For more info on BugBear go to: McAfee - http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99728 Nortons - http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.bugbear@mm.html jimmy

    3. Seeking more info on Garrett Morris who m. Nancy Browning in Clarke Co, c. 1807. Are they the parents of George Washington Morris b. May 1826? What about George's siblings: Joshua, Charles, Nancy Margaret (m. George Washington Ault), Jeptha and Annis? Anyone researching these lines? Have info on Jeptha; know Annis was living with Nancy in the 1850 census of Walker Co, GA. What happened to Garrett? Was his middle initial "T."? Who was his father? Possibly a William Morris? She will be speaking on MIGRATION INTO & THROUGH NORTH CAROLINA. Her books include early newspaper records, marriage and death records, jury lists, Whites among the Cherokees, Orange County, NC, Deed Records, The Carolina Genealogist quarterly (published 1970-1985), and the weekly genealogical magazine Family Puzzlers (published 1964-1997). Her topics for this workshop include “Settlers - Who Came, Why and From Where?”, and two sessions covering North Carolina records, starting with the pre-Revolutionary War period and continuing into the 19th Century. Tape recording will be permitted. Questions will be taken at the end of the afternoon session.
