    2. Elizabeth
    3. My research concerns Francis Loyall from Virginia and an officer in the Revolutionary Army. He is buried in GA. His widow, Elizabeth Hicks Loyall, married Nicholas Baker in Clarke Co about 1813; they moved to Jasper Co, GA and soon after, to Tuscaloosa, AL. Margaret Frances (Peggy) Loyall, daughter of Fancis and Elizabeth Hicks Loyall, is my gg grandmother; she was married to Charles Baker of Tuscaloosa, AL following the War of 1812,----about 1816-1817. I would like to locate the grave and homeplace of Francis Loyall in Clarke, Co. Would like to correspond with other individuals who are researching this Loyall line. Elizabeth Baker

    3. Hello Jimmy, My name is Sam Stewart. My roots in Clarke County start with my GG-Grandfather Alfred Stewart about 1820 or earlier,as what records I have been able to obtain start in 1800 in Oglethorpe County. I don't know if Alfred migrated to Clarke County or if the County started with him in it. Alfred had 2 wifes, the first was hannah Phillips whom he married in 1800. Indications are that she died some time around 1818. The second wife (my line) was Mary (Polly) Crawford, whom he married about 1820. Most of his childred settled in Glarke or surrounding Counties. Any info on this line of Stewarts in Clarke would be appreciated. 3. This cemetery is on Jackson Street approx. 2 blocks off Broad Street. It is across Jackson from the UGa Main Library. If I remember correctly the land belongs to the city of Athens. It's small and very well kept. Ages ago after this cemetery ran out of space a few graves from this cemetery were moved to Oconee Hill Cemetery and that was when Oconee Hill Cemetery began.
