Good Morning, I found some very interesting information in the Jefferson County, GA Tax Records for some of my DANIEL bunch of Jefferson County, GA -- they owned property in the 1850-1860 time frame in Cherokee County, GA -- 40 acres to be exact. This sounds to me like an undivided interest which they inherited from their parents. We believe the parents of Robert W. DANIEL (1809-1865) and James L. DANIEL (1814-1857) of Bethany, (83rd MD) of Jefferson County, GA were Robert Chesley DANIEL (ABT 1765-ABT 1830) and Penelope LANE (1773-1846) of Burke County, GA. Robert and Penelope may have moved somewhere else before they died because we do not have a location for their death or burial, although Penelope death was recorded in the SCA in 1846. I also know a Beverly DANIEL and his wife, a MACHAN girl, moved to Canton, Cherokee County, GA and this Beverly fits the time frame to be a brother of Robert C. DANIEL of Burke County, GA. If anyone has any information on this family of an explanation for my GGF, Robert W. DANIEL, owing this 40 acres in Cherokee County, GA I sure would appreciate it... Thanks. John R. Clarke Thomasville, GA

Should be a reference to the Section, District, and Lot number in the deed. With that I might give you some back ground on the lot. Then again.. maybe not. My research and abstracts only went thru 1847. The DANIEL's family were mentioned many times in the early deeds of Cherokee County. Wyndell Taylor > >John R.
