My GG grandparents' (Joshua Ellis and Sarah E. Kelly) 28 Feb 1837 marriage is recorded in the Book A , Forsyth County Marriages. # 598 Deed Book E, page 498 -499 indicates Joshua C ELLIS of Cherokee County sold Land Lot 624, 3rd District, 2nd Section to William ELLIS of Cherokee County on 19 Dec 1840. I am attempting to establish a relationship between Joshua & William ELLIS. I suspect William may be Joshua's father, but can find no documentation for my theory. They are both listed in the 1840 Census of Cherokee County and the eldest male in the William Ellis household is old enough to be Joshua's father. Sarah E.
