Trying to find a marriage record for: James N. (or M) BAILEY and Eliza Ann married around 1855/56...maybe a year before. Do not know her maiden name. His last name could be spelled Baily. Any help would be appreciated. Tricia plbrimer@swbell.net
Tricia, Mr. Taylor has posted the early Cherokee County marriages to the USGenWeb site for that county. Check there and check also for the spelling Baley. http://www.usgenweb.com Select Georgia and then Cherokee County. Good luck. See link below for the Cherokee County probate court's Marriage database lookup tool . . . It is current through the '90s at least. http://www.cherokeega.com/departments/judicial/probate/marriage_search.cfm I queried Bailey marriages and there are a lot. I didn't find an exact match for your search but it could take some digging. Try alternative spellings -- I've found several marriages that way. FYI -- Judge Kipling L. "Kip" McVay and the probate court deserves a HUGE thank you for this website. Besides the marriage database -- there is also a search tool for Estate dockets. http://www.cherokeega.com/departments/judicial/probate/estate_search.cfm Rebecca Bannister rbannister@comcast.net (Main Email) beccasroots@comcast.net (Geneology Email) crescentchronicle@comcast.net (Cherokee County Historical Society Newsletter) -----Original Message----- From: Patricia Brimer [mailto:plbrimer@swbell.net] Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2005 9:39 AM To: GACHEROK-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GACHEROK-L] Marriage look up Thank you Linda. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda Murray" <lhmurray@bellsouth.net> To: <GACHEROK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2005 8:11 AM Subject: Re: [GACHEROK-L] Marriage look up > Tricia, > Mr. Taylor has posted the early Cherokee County marriages to the USGenWeb > site for that county. > Check there and check also for the spelling Baley. > http://www.usgenweb.com > Select Georgia and then Cherokee County. > Good luck. > Linda Murray > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Patricia Brimer > To: GACHEROK-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2005 8:35 AM > Subject: [GACHEROK-L] Marriage look up > > > Trying to find a marriage record for: > James N.
