Hi Carol, Thanks for the reply! I'm not familiar with the names George Torrance and Mary Emaline Johnson. However, I don't know the names of any of my Thomas G. Johnson's siblings. According to my Christian Family info. he was a son of William Johnson, but I have no other info. on his parents. Thomas G. was born about 1825 in TN. My grandfather was his son, Thomas Lafayette who married Margaret Scott of Jackson Co., GA. Soon after their marriage, they moved to MS where my dad, and then I, grew up. I got the info. about Thomas G. and Mary Christian Johnson's children from census records. I have since found descendants of one of my grandfather's brothers, John Willis, and I have been able to trace some of the others. Elizabeth Jane married Julius Clovis Freeze, I think that Cordelia married Elias M. Duncan, Alfred married Rachel Isabelle McGuire, Josephine married George W. Bruce (and later, George Smith), and William married Donia Watson (and later Neicy (or Narcy) ? ) In 1850, Thomas G. and Mary were in the 15th Div., in 1860 they were at Fort Buffington P. O, and in 1870, Mary and some of the children were at Orange P. O., all in Cherokee Co. In 1880, she and a couple of her sons were at Mullins. According to a friend who did some research for me, she is buried in Old Macedonia Cem., E. Cherokee Rd. and GA Hwy 20, apparently in an unmarked grave. Thomas G. was killed in the Civil War, 26 Nov. 1863, and I don't know where he is buried. Thanks again for writing. I would be glad to hear from you again. Cathryn Johnson Jackson 1130 Peyton Rd.
