Alexander Colbert joined in Cherokee County...was sent to VA with the 20th GA Infantry. He died within six months of joining at the Culpepper Courthouse in VA. It had been turned into a troup hospital. He died of Typhoid. This was in 1861 and I doubt his widow had the money to bring him home. I guess they just buried them in a field nearby. Just was wondering if any markers were around to show where they were buried....typhoid took so many lives, I am sure it was among many others who died there.
