    3. Don, I descend from Rev. Richard Phillips through his son Daniel M. Phillips. I know there were several Phillips/Pruitt marriages. If you are familiar with Eloise Groover Lovell's book "The Richard Phillips Family History 1791 - 1983", you might be interested to know she missed a couple of children of Daniel. She listed the children named in the 1850 census on the bottom of page 602, but she didn't list David Louis (my great grandfather) and Robert Phillips. Several of the children moved to Texas after Daniel's death. I would like exchange information, if you are agreeable. Thanks, Mike Gibson Mesquite, Texas ----- Original Message ----- From: Donald Pruitt To: GACHEROK-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 9:41 AM Subject: Re: [GACHEROK-L] SWANSON-HUTCHISON Families Verna, there were some very prominent Barkers in the Haw Creek Community of Forsyth County, GA. Haw Creek Church was constitued in 1841 by Rev. Richard Phillips. Forsyth County borders on Cherokee. I lot of my Pruitt/Rainwater ancestors moved back and forth between Cherokee and Forsyth Co. You might want to follow that lead. I think most of the Barkers in that area eventually migrated to Oklahoma. 3. Mike, My wife descends thru Richard and Delilah's daughter, Clarinda, who married a Major. In fact, Sula's(my wife) dad was named Major Echols. I am familiar with the Eloise Groover Lovell's book and do know that there were some errors. We attended Haw Creek Baptist church during our youth and both our parents were members till death. Richard and Delilah were the founders of that church and are buried in the church cemetary. I wish we could start a reunion for the descendants of that very dedicated couple. I am afraid that the church will cease to exist since Forsyth Co has become one of the fastest growing counties in the US. The few that attend the church now refuse to moderate their views so as to attract younger folks. It was, indeed, one of the mother churches of the Southern Baptist faith in Forsyth Co, GA. A pyramid scheme billionaire is building a house near it that rivals the Biltmore House near Asheville, NC. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Gibson" <mikegibsonathome@msn.com> To: <GACHEROK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 7:34 PM Subject: Re: [GACHEROK-L] SWANSON-HUTCHISON Families > Don, > > I descend from Rev.
