    1. My Martins in Early Cherokee
    2. Connie, I appreciate your reply to my query and I wish that I could say that maybe we are connected, but if we are, I sure wouldn't recognize it. My Margaret Martin was a widow who was in Abbeville, SC, in 1820, Hall Co., GA, in 1830 and was granted Forsyth Co., Land in the 1832 Gold Lottery. I know nothing about her pre-GA background and am grasping for straws. I believe that Margaret was b. c. 1790(+/-) and her children were born in SC around 1812-1816. In the 1820 SC census she was a widow with three children and later in 1825 in Hall, GA, her three children, Toliver P., Thomas, and Mary Martin were all listed in Poor School there. I wish that I could tie her to another Martin in that area but so far I can't seem to do that. I would appreciate to hear from you if you ever run across a connection and I'll do likewise.
