I am seeking dates of death and place of burial for my great grandparents, John Ridge Galt and Arcadia Caroline Tippin Lawhon Galt. There is a date of death of 1876 posted in World Connect for John Ridge Galt, but I have not been able to verify this with any document and have not found his place of burial. He was born in SC in 1814, moved to GA with most of his family, parents wereJabez Galt and Frances Machen, to the Canton area. His parents are buried in Canton. He married Caroline in 1862 (3rd wife ?) and their issue were John Edward Galt (1864), my grandfather, and Lee A.(Lela, Leeland) Galt, his sister, in 1867. The last record of the these four Galts together was in 1870 in Bells District, Cherokee Co. By the 1880 census, Johr R. had died (?) and I find no record of Caroline's whereabouts. A researcher in Bartow found John Edward and Lela (?) living in Paulding Co. with their half-brother Thompson George Lawhon, Caroline's son from her first marriage to George W. Lawhon. She also found that in January of 1880, Caroline had applied for guardianship bonds for her two minor children in Cherokee Co. I have no date of death or burial for Caroline.If anyone can help me, it would be most appreciated. Martha Galt Orcutt
