Should be a reference to the Section, District, and Lot number in the deed. With that I might give you some back ground on the lot. Then again.. maybe not. My research and abstracts only went thru 1847. The DANIEL's family were mentioned many times in the early deeds of Cherokee County. Wyndell Taylor > >John R. 3. John, At the inception of Cherokee County during the Gold Lottery, parcels of land were allocated in land lots of 40 acre tracts. It is possible to trace the ownership of the land . I don't have access at home to the land records (the Canton Library has a set, so it isn't required that you search at the County Courthouse), but maybe someone on line does. I have traced the land my church now owns through the lottery and subsequent owners. Not all Fortunate Drawers in the Lottery took possession of the land. One drawer for land for my church lived in South Georgia and I don't have any evidence he ever occupied it. This is possibly the explanation of the 40 acre tract. Possibly your ancestor won the land in the lottery and paid taxes without ever moving. I do own the lottery book listing Fortunate Drawers of the Gold lottery and will look up your Daniels. 1. Introduction - DANIEL
    2. John R. Clarke
    3. Good Morning, I found some very interesting information in the Jefferson County, GA Tax Records for some of my DANIEL bunch of Jefferson County, GA -- they owned property in the 1850-1860 time frame in Cherokee County, GA -- 40 acres to be exact. This sounds to me like an undivided interest which they inherited from their parents. We believe the parents of Robert W. DANIEL (1809-1865) and James L. DANIEL (1814-1857) of Bethany, (83rd MD) of Jefferson County, GA were Robert Chesley DANIEL (ABT 1765-ABT 1830) and Penelope LANE (1773-1846) of Burke County, GA. Robert and Penelope may have moved somewhere else before they died because we do not have a location for their death or burial, although Penelope death was recorded in the SCA in 1846. I also know a Beverly DANIEL and his wife, a MACHAN girl, moved to Canton, Cherokee County, GA and this Beverly fits the time frame to be a brother of Robert C. DANIEL of Burke County, GA. If anyone has any information on this family of an explanation for my GGF, Robert W. DANIEL, owing this 40 acres in Cherokee County, GA I sure would appreciate it... Thanks. John R. Clarke Thomasville, GA

    3. Following is the earliest census record I can locate on my great-grandparents and their young family, I am sending this to several lists I have joined and apologize if you get it more than once. From this census info, it appears my ggrandfather, Robbert Wilkins, was born about 1852-1853 somewhere in Alabama. His father was born in SC and his mother in NC, but I don't know either of their names. My ggrandmother, Frances M. FLOYD (Fannie), was born also about 1852-1853 in Alabama. Her father was born in SC and her mother in AL, but I don't know their names either. I am hoping to find my ggrandfather and ggrandmother, possibly at age 7-9 years in an Alabama census with their unknown parents. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. About 4 years ago, someone on one of these lists did give me the information I was looking for on my ggrandfather Robbert Wilkins and his parents, but shortly after two things happened: my computer crashed and I crashed. I have another computer and I am healthy once again, but the information I was given seems to be lost forever. 1880 Township 7, Cherokee County, Alabama Page 264A Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace Robbert WILKINS Self M M W 27 AL Farmer Fa: SC Mo: NC Francis M. Robbert E. (Dock) WILKINS and Frances M. With info from the 1910 Bossier Parish census, it would appear that Julis/Julius "Pete" Wilkins and his wife Minda ? were in AL in 1898-1900 range since 11 yr old son Grady born there; By about 1903-1905, they were in LA since 6 year old Fannie was born there as were the next 2 children Ella and Roy. 2.) AR (most likely Eudora area), but James Franklin WILKINS is buried at Rocky Mount Presbyterian Cemetery in Bossier Parish, LA next to his brother John William WILKINS. If anyone recognizes anything here or if you are a part of this family, or if you can add to what little I know PLEASE PLEASE let me know. If I can further anyone else's research in the Bossier Parish, LA area just let me know, I will certainly do what I can! 2. I've corresponded with someone who is descended from Salathiel Adams. I'll have to dig through my notes to see if I can find out who it was (hope it wasn't you -- I'm known to be that absent-minded sometimes!). Can't forget a name like that, though. Best wishes and kindest personal regards, I am, Your unworthy brother, G P Nall In Memoriam Brother James Wilson Adams was the second son of Henry Adams and Delilah Pool Adams. He was born March 19th 1859 (this is marked out & 58 written in) and died February 8th, 1937, having passed the mark of three score and ten years, his exact age being 77 years 10 months and 19 days. On March 4, 1883 Brother Adams was joined in marriage to Miss Anna Hardeman, this union being blessed with eight children, five sons and three daughters, all of whom survive except two sons and one daughter, also his companion, Sister Anna Adams is left to mourn his loss. Having professed hope in Christ, Brother Adams united with the Primitive Baptist Church at Mars Hill, near Cumming, Forsyth County, Georgia, in the summer of 1882. In September 1926 Bethany Primitive Baptist Church was constituted and established and brother Adams was enrolled as a member. Through all these years brother Adams has been a loyal and devoted member of the Primitive Baptist faith and was a faithful and dearly beloved member of Bethany church at his death. The church at Bethany feels deeply the loss of brother Adams. His vacant seat brings to mind his going away and fills our hearts with sadness, but we are made to rejoice in the hope, from the evidence he has left us, that he is now sweetly resting on the other side. We believe when the Saints of God are brought forth from the grave on the resurrection morning that the body of Brother Adams will be among those fashioned like unto the body of Jesus and share the Glory of God in that world that has no end.
