Valerie: I live in Chattooga County (Lyerly) and just today returned from a visit to the Alpine Village of Helen, GA which is in White County (N.E. GA mountains), a resort area. The community of Alpine, GA is a functioning community which is about three miles west of Lyerly and also near Menlo, GA; all of which are in Chattooga County (N.W. GA). Alpine is very near the GA / AL state line... I don't believe that Alpine has a Post Office. Their mail is probably via a RR from Lyerly, or more likely from Menlo, GA. Best wishes, CPJ ----- Original Message ----- From: <ValerieGrisham@aol.com> To: <GACHATTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2001 3:37 PM Subject: [GACHATTO] Where is Alpine, GA > Does Alpine, GA still exist?
