Has anyone in Chattooga Co. come across listings of Bible records published in FAMILY PUZZLERS, the weekly genealogy magazine edited by Mary Bondurant Warren from 1964 until 1998? I thought that HERITAGE PAPERS went out of business when Mrs. Warren stopped publishing Puzzlers the end of 1998. Not so!! I recently found the new websites for HERITAGE PAPERS as well as for FAMILY PUZZLERS, TNG, the monthly magazine edited by Mrs. Warrens daughter Amy Warren Sanders! Most of the items that Heritage Papers used to advertise in their annual catalog are still available, including back issues of the quarterly magazines GEORGIA GENEALOGIST and CAROLINA GENEALOGIST, lots of historic maps, as well as source materials for Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia. Some bound volumes of Family Puzzlers are still available. For Heritage Papers, go to http://www.galaxymall.com/books/heritagepapers For Family Puzzlers, The Next Generation, go to http://www.galaxymall.com/books/familypuzzlers I just thought youd like to know, I did!! There are several stories on this incident in the last several issues of the quarterly of the Chatooga County Historical Society, as I recall. It was one of the most noted murders in Chattooga Co, GA. He was killed by the KKK and Gus Johnson admitted to the crime. He wasn't convicted of this crime, despite all efforts by our family to have him convicted. He was later hung after killing a black ferryman on the Coosa. I believe all his other bros were hung too and his father was murdered and no one ever admitted to that crime. They harassed my family quite a bit. Shelby, I found the story of Gus Johnson in the Baker book and it didn't say where he was buried, only that he was hanged in Floyd County. I'll still try to find out where he was buried, though. that is if you want me to. Charlotte Charlotte
The Edward's farm was about 2 miles down Taliaferro Springs Rd. right on the river. The train track ran right beside the farm house. I've never heard if Gus Johnson was buried at Johnson Cemetery, but I can probable find out if he is. What kind of criminal was he? Charlotte
Charlotte, Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea who cares for that cemetary or who I might get in touch with to find A J and matilda Foster henderson's graves. They lived in Chattoogaville. Also, have any idea if the counties most noted criminal Gus Johnson is buried ther. Thanks Shelby Robt Sinclair Foster's farm was near Holland and he had a Melville P O . Does this sound like your place?
Shelby, There is a cemetery in Chattoogaville. It is called Johnson Cemetery and believe it or not, it's on Johnson Cemetery Road. My mother and her family were raised in Lyerly. In fact they lived on a large farm on the Taliafero Road on the Chattooga River. Thanks, Charlotte

Shelby, I am here. Just been busy lately. I will help you any way I can. Do you know the exact location of the farm or just were it should have been? Johnnie Lynne
Anybody connected to Volecia Victoria Holland who's mother was murdered in 1861 by a slave. The slave was hung. Volecia was married to a Rambo. Anybody researching the Rambo's in this area? Thx Shelby
Johnnie Bradley are you still out there????? I lost your email and this is Shelby researching the Robt Sinclair Foster farm near Lyerly. Can you please email me. I didn't realize my mail would be dropped after so many days. Thanks Shelby
