    3. Anne, If you find any Waters listed in the marriage records, I'd appreciate knowing. I am particularly looking for the marriage of Robert Payne Waters and his wife, Sara Holt around 1870-75, and any marriage records of an Oliver Waters and his wife, perhaps Martha, around 1850. Any Waters info would be helpful, though. Thanks. Ken Waters --- Ken Waters --- kjwaters98@earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.

    3. Posted on: Chattooga Co. Ga Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/ChattoogaBios/10005 Surname: Foster, Mayo, Allison, Brooks, Horton, Mosely, Hawkins ------------------------- E. E Foster was born in 1874 Chattooga Co, GA the son of Capt Kinchen Rambo and Malissa Mayo Foster of Foster's Store. He was raised as a Methodist and committed his life to the Lord early in his life. He was raised in the community and when he was 19, he fell madly in love with a 32 yr old woman. He went to his father for approval of this marriage and K R Foster sent him out west to TX. He wanted him to oversee lands along the Concho River that he had traded for "sight unseen". The exchange involved a vineyard in GA. His sister Carrie Adeline Foster wrote: "with a thousand miles between them, his love for the woman vanished like morning mist." Eugene met Bessie Arthur who was a schoolteacher and an "Alabama Belle." He proposed to her on the bridge over Dove Creek in Tom Green Co, TX and she accepted. This family proceeded to buy up land in Tom Green Co. TX, sometimes as low as 75 cents per acre until they had a sum total of a 900 acre West TX plantation. He farmed and ran a dairy. He served as Sunday School Supt. in the church his family founded for a great number of yrs and also served as County Commissioner in Tom Green Co, TX. He was involved in a great many activites in the community and was responsible for many of the paved roads in the county. Our family is very thankful for Papa Foster's accomplishments . Michelle Doss- his ggggrandddaughter.

Ga Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/ChattoogaBios/10003 Surname: Foster, Mayo, Brooks, Hawkins, Mosely, Horton ------------------------- Capt. Kinchen Rambo Foster was born in Gwinnett Co, GA and married Malissa Mayo ( her father Micajah Mayo-of the Floyd Co, Bar Lock- Dam). They founded the community of Foster's Store, GA outside of Lyerly. K. R. served with gallantry in the Civil War and returned home to make a success of his life after serving time in a POW camp for nine months. He was one of the most prosperous plantation owner's in Chattooga Co. Growing strawberries, tobacco, clover, and raising mules. He and Malissa had 14 children and buried 8 of them before their own deaths. Malissa grew up in Floyd Co and wrote her life story in the Atlanta Journal" Sunny South". She was the President of the Epworth Women's Missionary Society in Lyerly. They are both buried in the cemetary in Lyerly, GA. This family was one of the founding families of the Oak Hill Methodist church. A couple of years ago, I made a trip to their original planatation. The kind people of Chattooga Co, GA and Lyerly made us feel so welcome and my hat is off to such a warm community.....

The index is done by the grooms. not the brides. I did look up the two Salmon's you had there but, they were not in the index. I will extract the other Salmon's. 3. Shelby, I don't have the marriage record for 1900. I only ordered the records between 1839-1880. I did extract all of the names from the index for Starling and Foster that I found in those years. Hope it is useful. Starling, Melissa & Alexander Copeland 1839-60 pg 125 Starling, Wiley & A.A. Powers 1839-60 pg 262 Starling, Louie or Levi & Patience Kincaid 1861-80 pg 7 Starling, Doctor Lawrence & C. Hawkins 1861-80 pg 113 Starling, Jane & David Adams 1861-80 pg 188 Starling, Riley & Lucy Bell 1861-80 pg 216 The following Starlings' had (PC) after their entry. I assume that meant "person of color". I would not assume that because PC wasn't there that people where not "persons of color", necessarily. Starling, John & Sarah Gilbert (PC) 1861-80 pg 151 Starling, Lewis & Clarrissa Bell (PC) 1861-80 pg 238 Starling, Lou (female) & Jerry Nix (PC) 1861-80 pg 308 Foster, L. J. & S. A. Hosch? 1861-80 pg 7 Foster, H. W. & Isabell Larsen? " pg 43 Foster, Jane & Edward Smith " pg 55 Foster, Mattie & J. C. Benefield " pg 60 Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more clarification. If any of them interest you, let me know and I can get the dates from the film. Anne

    3. June, I found the following for the Hughes, Catlett, Loveless names: Hughes, A. W. & Ela Blain bet 1861-80 pg 45 Hughes, Alexander & Miss Alice Lockes? bet 1861-80 pg 316 Catlatt, Miss T. C. & Ed. Adams bet 1861-80 pg 328 Loveless, Mary & E.B. Sullivant bet 1839-60 pg 358 Loveless, Mary & D. B. Hall bet 1861-80 pg 18 Loveless, T. J. & Elizabeth Loveless bet 1861-80 pg 19 Loveless, Ann & Moses F. Purcell " " pg 64 Loveless, Martha & C. W. Abrams " " pg 134 Loveless, Safonia? & G.W. Parker " " pg 162 Loveless, Jefferson & Henrietta Bane " " pg 210 Loveless, Robert B. & Nancy A. Abrams " " pg 240 The following Loveless' had the initials (PC) after their entries so, I am assuming that means "Person of color" Loveless, Lou (female) & Joseph Sturdivant (PC) 1861-80 pg 199 Loveless, Silas & Eliza Dodson (PC) 1861-80 pg left out but, bet 251-257 Loveless, Samuel & Mary Pulsite? (PC) 1861-80 pg 288 Hope this helps you. I could have misinterpreted some letters. I am working off of copy of the index from the film. If you have any questions or want further clarification, let me know. I go to the library on Thursdays and can look at the actual record on the film. I have had so many requests that I am just using the index first then I will go back to the records if someone wants the dates for them. It is not a problem. I am happy to do it. I am also trying to get this index transcribed and put onto the Chattooga Website in the near future. I haven't decided yet if I will put dates or page numbers with the names. We will see how long it takes. Anne

    1. [GACHATTO] Lively
    2. Janice Dias
    3. C. Bourn, The Joseph and John Lively are brothers, born in Spartenburg,SC, moved to GA, lived in Chattooga Co. John 's daughter Lucy Ann married my Joe Green, their children were born in Summerville, GA. I have Lucy Ann's line to date and will share with anyone. I can't say if you line connects with mine or not, I know some Lively's went to TN,and KY. but am sure they are kin somewhere. My line listed below. Joseph Lively(The Wagoner) b in VA, married a Sarah (Sally). children: Anderson b 1790, married Elizabeth Bryant, after his 1st wife died, he moved to Izard Co. AR where he died, he had two children John, 1820, Elija b 1818 in SC. John went to GA and had the children I listed before, I know nothing about Elija. Lucy Ann Lively married Joe Green, has to be in Chattooga Co. because their children were born there. I have no marriage record for them. Lucy moved to Montague Co. TX and had, Beulah 1882 (my grandmother) Arthur 1880, Tommy 1884, Noah 1886, Joseph C. 1892 and Sally Ann 1895. I have both Lively books that mentions my ggrandmother, hope by the next book my family will be listed in it. I still know nothing about the Green family and would like to find someone doing this line. Thanks for your reply. Janice
