I am looking for the obit on Annie Ruth Foster d. 3-20-1915, who died in Lyerly, GA and is buried there. Can anyone help? Thanks Michelle
My Foster's Alfred and Kinchen Rambo Foster. Michelle
Anne, If you put the marriage records on Genweb, will we have access to the records? Since going to rootsweb, I have been unable to access the census records which were available at one time. Now, perhaps it is my lack of knowledge as to how to access records once they are on the "big boards". It has been my experience that once on the "big boards" you MUST pay their annual fees to access the records. Am I wrong? Carolyn

Please tell me which Foster was connected with Foster & Mcleod Mills in Lyerly? Thank you.
I have about finished the marriage records for the years 1839-1860. Let me know what is the best way to get them on the website. I have corresponded with a Joan at GenWeb. Should I do it through her or through the website directly. Instructions please :) I will start on 1861-1880 next week. Anne Renshaw
Foster & Mcleod Mills was in operation during the late 1800's in Chattooga Co, GA. Angus Mcleod was a large land holder in Chattooga Co, GA-Lyerly. Does anyone know anything about this man? Thanks Shelby

Here's a website that you might find interesting. The courthouse tour will give you a look at the Chattooga County Courthouse as well as others. The photo is a side view of the Chattooga courthouse but the front of the building looks basically the same :) Highway 27 Association http://www.Hwy27.com/ Mary

Hello, Chuck I see you found your way onto this Chattooga Co mailing list. Michelle :-)
I recently visited the courthouse in Chattooga, but ran out of time and was wondering if anyone might be willing to look up and copy some deeds for me? I have the book and page number. Please let me know. I do appreciate all the help of the kind people of Chattooga Co, Ga. Thanks Michelle
Michelle: I will be happy to volunteer to do such specific chores (with instruction / directions). I have an HP 5370C scanner which accommodates documents, photos and photo-transparencies (including negatives) and will be glad to transport those documents to you. If you send your specific instructions, I will strive to avail myself to the chore prior to my previously stated deadline of one month, concerning prior commitments and relocation. When I am in Lyerly, I go to Summerville almost daily for my coffee-klatch and can take your instructions to the court-house to extract those records and email them to thee. It is located on Foster St & Tennessee Ave. The structure was built in 1891 by Alfred Foster and after his death, the home was acquired by his father Kinchen Rambo Foster. Might anyone have an older picture of the home or be able to provide any of the info on the home????? Or the area, where the home stands??? Maybe even the area behind the home??? It appears that in 1882 Land Lot 109 had several structures on it including a Mill, Tanyard, Store and Dwelling. Any info would be appreciated. I have spoken with Mr Jones who now owns the home and he provided me his family history of the home. Thanks, Michelle
Does anyone in Lyerly remember Aunt Georgia, a black woman who used to live in the K R Foster home????????? Thanks Michelle
