Joan, Debby Buteau and I, on this list are tracing our ancestor, Peter Caesar/Cessar. He was a coastal captain from Italy. His naturalization papers indicate that he was born abt 1768 and arrived in the US abt 1783 (we don't know where). "CAESAR, Peter. November 10, 1807. Born near Milan, Italy; age, 39 in 1807. Has been residing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia for about 24 years. Has been residing in Savannah for the last 8 years. Source: Book 2, page 314, case films." Do you think there may be a connection? When did your Cesaroni come to the states?
