Just a FYI for Police info. seekers: The Savannah City Directories list Police Officers in the front of the books. I have seen this from 1880's to early 1900's. I saw this because I was looking for my GG Grandfather who was a Fireman, unfortunately they don't list all the fire fighters, mainly officers. Good news for Police seekers, they list all the Police Dept. Also at the GA. Historical Society I have seen a file of the early Police Dept. and they have great pictures and references.
