Hi! I have found this list by roundabout means, after using the SSDI, Ellis Island site, [email protected] list, etc. My first cousin never saw her father. Her mother "booted" him out of the house, not allowing him to even see his second child (my guess is the problem was hers, not his). Now this cousin of mine wants a lot to know more about her father. It seems fairly certain he is deceased. Anders/Andres/Andrew HETLAND was born, perhaps around April 1903, in Norway (something like Haugestund -- I have the exact spelling at home). I only absolutely know that he was born before 1909. He and his first wife settled in Pennsylvania. He appears to be the Andrew HETLAND found on the SSDI, that died in Georgia in 1964. There even seem to be descendants listed in the phonebooks in the area. We are going to pursue these ones. We were provided, kindly, with the GA Death Index for Andres HETLAND. Why am I writing you? 1. To see if anyone is researching this name, or is a relative, friend, etc., of anyone of this name in the area, and can help us. 2. To see if anyone has any kind of database or access to a database that would list Andres and maybe even his second family, etc., in Chatham County, GA. Ellis Island lists an Anders HETLAND as a crew member on two ships, the Kinghorn, and the Jan, in 1918 and in 1924. He served at sea for 5 years. One of the points of departure was Philadelphia, PA, but they went to Cuba and to Italy, and wound up at New York. Thanks for any help you can possibly provide. Vince Summers
