Hello, A relative of mine died in Chatham County in 1937. I found him listed in the Georgia Death Index and sent my $10 (along with the certificate # and other information) for the certificate. My letter (but not of course the $10) was returned along with a reply that the individual was NOT listed in the Georgia Death Index. I wrote again and sent a copy of the page of the Death Index in which the person was listed, highlighting his name. They again returned my letter and the copy of the page along with the same reply that the person is not listed in the Death Index. (I don't know what can be the problem, since I have written for many other Death Certificates and have received them.) Anyway, I wonder whether Chatham County has and will send copies of the death certificate of a person who died there in 1937? Does anyone know, and if so, what is the address and the cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated. LouDean
