    1. [GACHATHAM] Lufburrow mystery solved
    2. March 14, 2001 Just wanted to send a note letting you know that I finally got a death certificate today for Helen Lufburrow Waldrep (1888-1978) and it shows that her parents were Orlando Lufburrow and Mary Muller. There's much more to learn about this, but at least I've passed that hurdle. I still suspect Orlando is buried near his father at the Laurel Grove Cemetery, but have no idea when or where Mary Muller died. Take care, Jim DuPlessis, Camden, S.C. March 9, 2001 Thanks to all of you for information received so far on the search for the father of Helen Lufburrow (1888-1978). Again, as she told it, her father was a older, wealthy Lufburrow in Savannah who died before or soon after her birth Oct. 1, 1888 there. I think the answer may lie in the Laurel Grove Cemetery on Savannah's westside. A photo of a large crypt there (shown at www. SavannahGeorgia.org) shows the inscription: "MATTHEW M. LUFBURROW/ 1787-1865 / BORN MONMOUTH COUNTY,  N.J. / MARY GREGORY LUFBURROW / 1796-1886 / BORN GOLDSBORO, N.C." It appears to be in a walled area that probably contains graves of other family members. My guess is that my wife's great-grandfather is the son of Matthew who died in 1888 and that he was probably buried near his father. I will be away this weekend, so I've I'm slow in replying to email, please understand. Thanks again, Jim
