Jesup, Ga., April 7.—Dr S. F. Ellis, who was stricken Wednesday morning with paralysis, died to-day. Dr. Ellis was a son of the late Prof. S.F. Ellis of Hampton county, South Carolina. He came here about twenty-one years ago and opened his dental parlors. He made many friends. Besides his dental practice, he was engaged extensively in the wholesale and retail mercantile business. No mad in this section of the state was better known than Dr. Ellis. Dr. Ellis first married Miss Hill, who died several years ago. One daughter, Miss Lois , was born to them. He was married again about two years ago to Mrs. Alma Bryan, to whom was born one daughter, Lillie White. The surviving relatives are his widow and two daughters; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Stokes of Scotia, S.C.; two brothers, A.N. Ellis or Tillman, S.C.; and J.L. Ellis of Pineland, S.C. Dr. Ellis was a member of the Methodist Church for many years. For the past eight or ten years he had been a steward in the church. He was also a member of Satilla Lodge, No 5, Knights of Pythias at this place. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. M. Lovett. _____________________ Savannah Morning News, April 8. 1916, pg 3 Mrs. J.O. Heidt Relatives in Savannah have been notified of the death at Paoli PA., of Mrs. J.O. Heidt, who was for some years a resident of Pooler GA. Mrs. Heidt was 59 years of age. The body will be brought to Savannah for burial, arriving here at 9:05 o'clock. this morning. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence of Mrs. A. L. Thompson at Ne. 337 Tattnall street. Mrs Thompson is a daughter of Mrs. Heidt. Ubtr=erment will be made in Laurel Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Heidt is survived by a brother, C. B. Cregar; two sons, Joseph W. Heidt of Sarasoto, Fla., and Tohmas P. Heidt of Coatesville, Pa., and three daughters, Mrs. A. L. Thompson of Savannah, Mrs. H. E. Hiers of Jacksonville and Mrs. W.W. Hendrix of Register, Ga. --------------------------------- Savannah Morning News, April 8, 1916, pg 3 Mrs. Ella Courvoisie Johnson The funeral of Mrs. Ella Courvoisie Johnson, who died Thrusday at her home in Fort Lee N. Y., was held yesterday in New York, according to news received here. Mrs. Johnson was a sister of Judge Henry Courvoisie of Brunswick, James A. E, Chambless, Moultrie Moultrie, April 9,—Following an illness extending over a period of several weeks, Mrs. C. E. Chambliss died yesterday at her home in Sale City. Thomas The funeral of C. R. Thomas, who died Friday at midnight, was held yesterday afternoon from the residence, No. 210 Gaston street, east, followed by services at the Independent Presyterian Church at 1 o'clock. Services were conducted by the Rev. Rockwell S. Brank. The interment was in Laurel Grove Cemetery. The pallbearers were: C. G. Bell, George J. Mills, C. zm. Gilbert, E. W. Cubbedge, Gordon Saussy, R. M. Butler, Thomas Purse and Dr. T. J. Father Mitchell at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at 4:30 o'clock. The interment was in Cathedral Cemetery. The pallbearers were: John Farrell, J.F. Kearney, J.J. O'Reilley, Richard O'Donovan, John Hayes, Thomas Brennan, Edward F. The funeral of Freddie Louis, who died in Denver, was held yesterday morning at 9 o'clock from the parlors of Henderson Brothers. Services were conducted by the Rev.
