Based on some information sent to me by Richard Byrd (Thanks Richard!!!!!!), I'm wondering if anyone on the GACHATHAM list has information about the following organizations and their members? - Forest City Lodge 16 - Junior Order - United American Mechanics - Savannah Council 17 - Daughters of America According to the obituary in the Savanah Morning News, my grandfather, Robert Franklin CARTER Sr, was a member of these organizations when he died March 23, 1933. He was a fisherman and reportedly lived near the Hwy 204 bridge at Bryan County line on the Ogeechee River. Also, it lists one of his brothers as Edward J. CARTER of Ways, the name of which was later changed to Richmond Hill. If anyone has information on Edward J. CARTER or on any of the above named organizations, would appreciate hearing from you and will be happy to share what I have as well. Bob Carter Greensboro, NC
