Dear List: I have recently discovered that a "long-missing" relative, Capt. Joseph Manigault, lived in Savannah for many years before his death there, June 17, 1911. He had been on Gen. R. E. Lee's staff in 1861 & 1862, was Assistant Adjutant General in the Confederate Army, and lived at one time on "Shubra" plantation on the Savannah River and later bought land on "Pennyworth" Island. Can anyone suggest the proper sources for death certificates, wills, possible marriage license, etc. ? I live a considerable distance from Savannah and will have to write for documents. Is there any on-line source of census or any other applicable data? I would certainly appreciate any help. Edward Manigault
