    3. Patrick, Since I last posted I've talked with my mother and found out that my great grandfather worked at Brown's Farm until he retired, so probably from the late 1920s until the 1950s. She remembered that he sat in a guard's shack on the back of a pick up truck. 1. Re: [GACHATHAM] Brown's Farm (Chain Gang)
    2. Darlene, My Grandfather and his brother worked there in the late 1940's and to about the 1960's. I had heard almost 30 years, but not sure. His name was John J. Knight, and his brother's name was J.T. Knight. Does this help? Sorry for the late reply, been sick and just getting around to answering my emails. Thanks, Patrick When did your grandfather and his brother work at Brown's Farm? I'd heard of Brown's Farm before, but had forgotten the name. My great grandfather, Warren T. Wilson, worked as a guard for the county chain gang. I'm not sure what years he worked there total, but the 1930 census shows he was a guard at that time.

He was buried there, but later, his grave was desecrated and no one knows where his remains are, except that they are believed to be in Wright Square. There's a neat ghost story about it. 3. I'm trying to find where my great-grandfather worked. He came from Germany where he was a dairyman. Gustaf Adolph Moller became Gus Miller when he came to America (Savannah) about 1870. The whole family lived in this big house on Broad St. It has been torn down and is now a warehouse, so I'm told. Gus's second wife was named Carrie B. VICKERY. They married June 11, 1911. Gus died Jan 2, 1912 under suspicious circumstances. Family lore says Carrie was pregnant but the baby was smothered when it was born. Then, she disappeared. Whew. This is some novel. 3. Patrick, Thanks for your message, yes I would be most grateful if you would look up a grave for me. It is the grave of Michael Berrigan, who died on 25th June 1886. He was born in Kilkenny Ireland. I am trying to connect him with my ggfather, who was transported from Ireland to Australia in 1853. Of course I would be interested to know of any transcription on a stone, my particular interest is to identify his parents. The Diocese of Savannah have provided all the certificates that they have, unfortunately the marriage certificate did not have his parents names. He is buried at Section E, SINGLE GRAVE,4TH RANGE NO 20. MAGNOLIA DIVISION, CATHEDRAL CEMETERY. At times the name was spelt Bergin, Bergen ,Berrigan, the last being on the burial certificate. Many thanks, Peter. -----Original Message----- From: stock5472@cs.com [mailto:stock5472@cs.com] Sent: Tuesday, 14 January 2003 4:15 AM To: GACHATHA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [GACHATHAM] Savannah Cemeteries Peter, My GG Grandparents are buried in the "old section" of the Catholic Cemetery.
