No GOODWIN, GOODIN, GOODWYN, GODWIN. Keep in mind the list only contains people in Georgia 1742 or earlier.
There are 3 Bryan references in our local Cemetery Book. That indicates that Bryan surname found in three different cemeteries. Could be many more actual burials. I reference pages, 68, 107, and 144. (there could be newer burials-I have not yet come to the typing of all of the new burials of some of these cemeteries. these are in the present book.) No Ceasers/Caesars or Lyon.
No Thomas, Tyson, or Tison.
I appreciate your looking Judy. Jerry B.
By the way, are you related to the Georgia Bennetts, which I am? Jerry B.
No Winklers. "Mitchel, Steven--Servt. to Jos. Ferron; embark'd 11 Sept. 1733; arriv'd 16 Dec. 1733. He wqas assign'd to Mr. Tho. Causton, but ran from the Colony 1734." Thomas Causton was in charge of the young colony's storeroom, and, through his mismanagement of it, he almost bankrupted Georgia before the colony got off the ground. It's a shame that he has the honor of Causton's Bluff in Savannah still bearing his name. "Mitchel, Andrew--Soof aandrew Mitchel; born in Georgia. Carry'd to Carolina by his father Dec. 1740." "Mitchel, Jo.--Son of ditto; born in Georgia Feb. 1739. Carry'd to Carolina by his father Dec. 1740." Jerry B.
These may be too early for my group, but are there any Ceasers/Caesars or Lyon? Thanks, Susan Marshall [email protected]
This is very nice of you, any THOMAS or TYSON, Thank you, Ann

Why, we might even be cousins--my great-grandmother was Mary Angeline "Molly" Smith of Camden County, GA.
Thanks Jerry, When I was a young child, we were the only Boltons listed in the phone book. Also the Owens Thomas house was built by William Jay for Richard Richardson and his bride Frances Bolton who was a sister in law to William Jay. A painting of Robert Bolton hangs in the house. Thank you so very much for all your information. I greatly appreciate all your efforts, I know it took a lot of time. Thanks Dot Smith
Thanks a million! Yes, I have the book and it is terrific! Rusty and I are from the same Fleetwood family in Savannah. His great grandfather and my great grandfather is William Henry Fleetwood...son of Green Fleetwood (1810-1856). Small world!! There are no Boltons on the list, however, I have a copy of an ad from the August 23, 1769 issue of the Georgia Gazette in which Vendue Masters, Ewen and Bolton, are selling, "A FEW DEER SKINS and sundry other articles belonging to the estate of David Cutler Braddock, deceased . . ." Davdid Cutler Braddock was my 5th great-grandfather. I think Bolton's given name was Robert. In 1937 I lived on Bolton St in Savannah before we moved to Charleston. I vaguely remember seeing information to indicate Bolton was a businessman in colonial Savannah. I just did an Internet search using "Robert Bolton" [quote marks included] followed by Georgia, outside the quote marks and had a number of hits, some of which looked as if they would be helpful. one of them had teh paragraph, "Mr. Marshall's force of character seemed to have been chiefly expended on worldly interests until he was about fifty years of age, when he became converted to Christ, and soon after his conversion he also acquired his freedom. He was at that time owned as a slave by Mr. Robert Bolton, of Savannah. The venerable mercantile partner of Mr. Bolton, Mr. Richard Richardson, advanced him two hundred dollars, which, with what he had saved by economy, enabled him to purchase his own freedom; and by diligence and economy he purchased his whole family, consisting of his wife, four children, his wife's father, and his own stepfather." Another web page, one about the history of stained glass, says, "Robert Bolton, elder of one of the most interesting families in American stained glass history, came from England when he inherited property in Savannah, Georgia." On a Lucas family genealogy web page I found the following, "On 20 Nov 1786, Chathan Co, GA, Deed Bk D, p. 141 - John Lucas of Chatham Co sold to Robert Bolton, Jr. of Savannah, merchant, lot on south commons & Bull Street granted by Comm of Confiscated Estates 16 Jul 1784." Hi, Jerry! Would you check to see if there are any members of the FLEETWOOD family listed? If so, I would like to purchase the book. Thanks!
