Hi Joe, You did send me this information before and I thank you for the second go around. I've been in touch with them, but all I was told was Margaret was buried in Savannah, GA, but not where. Barbara
"Marriages of Chatham County, Vol I, 1748 - 1852": Would you please look for CANNADY OR KENNEDY, Thank you in advance. Claudia
Hi .... I believe I sent this info once before but with my memory ????? Charlie Adams, sister of Margaret, lives at 2346 Shirley Park Drive, Savannah, Ga. Tel. (912) 354-0659. His daughter is doing their genealogy and I' sure you can get help there. Joe from Thunderbolt.
Hi Judy ..... My Bonaventure Cemetery Index covers sections A - H. and Gable is not listed. I looked in "Marriages of Chatham County, Vol I, 1748 - 1852 and found the following info: Marriage Settlements in the deed Books 1785 - 1852: H 908 - 910 KARR, Peter, Elizabeth Gable, widow of Abraham Gable, 25 March 1791/11 August 1791. Marriages in Newspapers 1763 - 1805 Savannah, Ga. April 7, 1791, Married Mr. Peter Karr to Mrs. Elizabeth Gable, widow of Mr. Abraham Gable. (GG 4/7/1791, 3:2) NOTICE: Whereas Elizabeth Gable, my wife, has absconded from my bed and board, without any just cause..... John Gable (CM 8/25/1797, 3:4) Hope this helps some...... Joe
Ancestry.com has access to the Georgia 1920 census, you have to download an image type software to see it properly. You might have luck getting on it or you may have to join, but they seem to have just about all of the counties. Good Luck. Marie
I don't see any Byrds in the index, but the book doesn't cover the whole cemetery. Before I had the book, I called the Cemetery and asked somepne there and they were very helpful. I don't know exactly what you are looking for. I am not getting all my email right now for some reason. I hope this helps, even tho it pertains to Alabama records, maybe Georgia kept the same type of info on their records: I got my great grandfather's DEATH certificate (Alabama) and it did list his place of BIRTH, and also HIS FATHER's Name, & place of birth. For some reason, he did not have listed his Mother's Name and place of birth. I assume because HE did not fill it out (obviously)... his Widow did, and she may not have known his mother's name. I then got his wife's (my great grandmother) DEATH certificate (Alabama), and it had her full name and birth and place of birth, and death info. Also listed was her father's and Mother's place of birth and names, and death. Let's just say, I lucked out on that one! It sure filled in a lot of my Genealogy in one fell swoop! I wish my TAYLOR's & STONE's were so easy! Can anyone tell me if Margaret Elizabeth Adams Byrd, b. May 20, 1918, d. 11/24/1973 is buried in Bonaventure? She is buried in Savannah, GA and that's all I know. Since her husband, Frederick Andrew Byrd, b. 6/4/1903, d. 1967 is buried in Bonaventure, it would seem she would be too. Thanks. Barbara
Robert, > I am wondering if you would be so kind as to do look-ups of several > ancestors who may be buried in this facility. Please feel free to send me the names that you are searching for, and I will search the index. I had to return my book due to to an error in the binding process, but hope to receive the new copy within the next week. Thanks, Peter Nesbitt
I am also seeking access to the 1920 Georgia census. Would you please pass along anyone who replies to you and has access? Thank you.
Could you please give me the address where I can write to obtain the Bonaventure Cemetery Index? Thank you. I have relatives buried in 6 H and 35 N plus others.
Does the marriage record ask for names of the parents of the married couple and on the birth record does it ask for place of origin of the newborn?

Birth records weren't done until about 1910. If they were baptized, you probably will find the parents names on the certificate. Mary Ellen
