Hi, I am in the process of transcribing the Jackson County, Georgia Cemeteries for a book I plan on publishing. At the moment I am working on Prospect United Methodist Church, it is located at the Jackson County and Clarke County lines. I am also getting the church histories. Prospect dates back to the 1780's. It is a very neat cemetery. It has some very old and somewhat unique markers, a crypt or tomb, iron fences. I have not finished this cemetery yet. I am also told there in a slave cemetery located in the woods behind the church. I am trying to identify the unmarked graves in this cemetery. There are quite a few. Some are marked with plies of rocks, some with a field stone, a wooded cross, or whatever someone could find. If anyone has any ancestors buried in this cemetery in an unmarked grave could you please contact me. I would really like to identify as many unmarked graves in Jackson County as I can. I have found several people who have family buried here in unmarked and they were able to show where in the cemetery their families are buried and what their name were.
