I have a copy the Sand Hill portion of one of these books(somewhere!), most of which seemed to me fairly recent. Whichever book it came from, the Sand Hill section had my grandfather, Doctor Ira Garst in several places. Amoong other things, it mentions that he made house calls in the early 1900s by motorcycle. He used to say he couldn't afford a car and the motorcycle was better company than a horse. Also a note about the "new" school--he sold them the land--where I started first at age 4. My grandfather marched me in and said, "You WILL take this child." No one argued! If I have time to dig it out in a day or two, I'll gladly post bits of it--but again, I have only the Sand Hill portion. Karen Dale Larkspur CO
