I am interested in any info in re William and Mary (Orr) Bryce/Brice, my gggg/Grandparents. They arrived in Carrol County c 1827 and William was extremely active in civic affairs. A son, Joseph, is listed as head of the household in the 1840 census and there are two older people with him, a female between 60 and 70 years old and a male between 70 and 80 in Militia District 649, Land District 6. It is strongly assumed that this is William and Mary. In the Carrol County Tax Digest 1842, another son, James, is listed as "exc est of William Brice dec". Would anyone know of any churches that would have been in existance during the period of time from 1827 thru 1842? They would have kept records of deaths, and burial sites.
