Donna, I have wondered if Levi Langley (age 18 in the 1850 census in Carroll County, GA with is wife Eliza age 20, no children born yet) was a son of Lodge Langley (age 62, born NC in 1850 census in Carroll County, GA) since they are living near each other. By 1860 Lodge Langley family is living in Heard County, Georgia, but did not see Levi Langley there. I have suspected that Lodge Langley also had a son William Langley who is living next door to him in the 1860 census in Heard County, Georgia. William Langley's son Robert S. Langley married Mary E. Gay (the daughter of John Gay and Martha W. Dyer). Does this sound like the same Langley family that you are researching? I recall seeing something on the Langley genforum about Lodge Langley, but the researchers who have queries on it didn't know about theWilliam Langley family that I was researching.
