    1. [GACARROL] Cullman County, Alabama
    2. It is my understanding that the Railroad owned a bunch of land in Cullman County and that a Colonel Cullman worked a deal to sell the land to farmers on very low interest and easy payment terms. Supposedly Colonel Cullman went around the country trying to interest farmers to move to Cullman and offered them good farm land very cheap. He obviously did well in Carroll County, and he was right on target about it being good farm land. Carroll County was very rocky farm land. I understand that if you visit some of the older cemeteries in Cullman you will see very many of the family names from Carroll. My Jordan's moved there with some of their cousins, my family moved back to Carrollton but others stayed then moved on to Texas.
