I keep seeing where families moved from Carroll county Georgia to Cullman county Alabama, likely about the time of the forming of Cullman county in 1877. Does anyone know the history of the attraction of the one and the leaving of the other in this regard? I know my Brock family and some associated with them moved this way, and it didn't seem to be all that successful in Alabama since fairly shortly they moved on to Texas. And these families had been in Carroll county for long term, some having fought that great Northern enemy of States Rights, the War of Northern Aggression, from that county. ;-) If any of Carroll county whose families were of the BROCK, DAVIS, NELSON, WATSON, COCHRAN, GREEN surnames, especially if living in the region of Villa Rica, could relate, I'd like to know of your research. -- Richard Brock
