In my weekly scan of E-Bay for genealogy material, I saw the following item is up for bid. It's currently at $75.00, but the description states that it originally sold for $150.00. . . Included in the description: INDEX TO MARRIAGE LICENSES CARROLL COUNTY, GEORGIA, 1827-1980; VOLUME 1 GROOM INDEX, VOLUME II BRIDE INDEX. Compiled by J. M. Fagg, 1984, 614 pages each volume, for a total of 1228 pages. Excellent condition, 9 x 11.5", hardbound. Set retailed for $150, 17 years ago. Entries are arranged alphabetically in each volume, and read as such: "Abberger, Donald Lee, Dantio, Betty Lou, 2/21/1978, Z, 96, white." Carroll Co, was established in 1826 from Indian Lands, so that means almost (if not all) of the marriages are preserved in this set. Carroll Co. is currently bordered by the following GA counties: Haralson (formed from Carroll in 1856), Paulding (from Carroll in 1832), Douglas formed from Carroll in 1870, Fulton, Coweta (an original county) and Heard formed in 1830. It is bordered by Alabama counties Cleburne and Randolph, which was burned in 1897 and all records destroyed. --------- To view the auction, go to this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1607028260 -or- go to: www.ebay.com and do a search using: Carroll Marriages I have NO interest in this auction, but I just thought someone researching in Carroll Co might be interested.
