Carolyn, I have no information about this family, but think I can answer a question or two. Type of instrument QC ( What is this?) - Probably a quitclaim deed. Might (but not necessarily) indicate a family relationship between grantee and grantor. If there was a family relationship, perhaps he quitclaimed the land to her as he was going off to war just in case he didn't make it back????? That might also explain the length of time between the date on the deed and the date of recording. This is all purely speculation on my part. Kind of instrument SHERIFF (Why?) Could have been a foreclosure/sheriff's sale? Kind of instrument W Deed Could mean Warranty Deed. Hope this helps. Pam
