Researching the family of Wilson Stallings (b. ca 1801 in NC) who married Susannah Smith in 1822 in Greene County, GA, and who moved to Carroll County, GA by 1828. Wilson Stallings daughter Mary A. F. Stallings (b. 1824 in Greene County, GA) married Joel C. Ashley in 1843 in Carroll County, GA and they moved to Burleson County, Texas in 1864 where Joel C. Ashley died in 1868. Mary A.F. Stallings Ashley then moved back to Carroll County, GA where she died in 1892. The known children of Joel C. Ashley and Mary Stallings were: Henry L. Ashley b. 1845 in Carroll County, GA Susan Ashley b. 1848 in Carroll County, GA (married a Mr. Steadman) Joel L. Ashley b. ? (died before 1892; named in his mother's Will as dec'd by 1892 with the following children: George Ashley, William Ashley, Lula Ashley, Etta May Ashley.
