First, they have much information relating to Campbell County and many other counties in Georgia, and Alabama, including some censuses on microfilm. Second, when you join, you receive their quarterly newsletter which, since fall of 1990, includes information about Campbell County. Back issues are indexed (back to Spriing 1982) and may be ordered for a small fee. If the complete issue is not available, they will make a copy for you for a fee. 1. [GACARROL] Campbell Co., GA mailing list added
    2. A mailing list for Old Campbell Co, GA has just been set up. Since I have seen so much spill over from Coweta, Carroll, & Douglas, I thought members of both lists might be interested. This should be very useful to those of us researching in this now defunct county Here are the how to's -- please e-mail to the address below to subscribe and NOT to me. 1. How to subscribe. Just send the command "subscribe" to GACAMPBE-L-request@rootsweb.com. 2. How to change to digest mode (several postings are combined and sent to you together as a single large message). There are two steps. First, send the command "unsubscribe" to GACAMPBE-L-request@rootsweb.com to discontinue mail mode. Second, send the command "subscribe" to GACAMPBE-D-request@rootsweb.com to start receiving digests. 3. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal NOMAIL mode. All you have to do is follow the directions above and unsubscribe when you want the messages to stop, and then when you want them to start again, simply subscribe again. 4. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to GACAMPBE-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. 5. To contact the administrator of this mailing list, send mail to GACAMPBE-admin@rootsweb.com. 3. I'm making a little headway on my husband's grandmother, Ira Belle Anderson Jackson. I found Belle's parents (Mr. & Mrs. Newberry S. Anderson) on the 1900 Carroll Co., GA census. They died in1910, apparently before the census was taken. I have 9 known children but there may have been some born between 1900 and 1910. Somehow, daughter Ada was in Cullman Co., AL marrying John H. Mitchell in 1910 and daughter Belle was in Cullman Co., AL marrying McCager Jackson. Of the nine children I know about, I've still not conclusively accounted for Verdie (did she marry a Wiggins and a Brown in Carroll Co.?) James (narry a clue on him. Did he move to Cullman Co. and bring Ada and Belle with him?) Virgie (did she marry a Bonner?) Descendants of Newberry Anderson Generation No. 1 1. 1. [GACARROL] Messages
    2. I have received many e-mails from your web site which concern all subjects except genealogy.I am wondering if there is any screening of messages to see if they are genealogy related or are they simply passed on with no concern of their content. This is not a complaint but I was simply wondering what would be the policy if someone sent a message which might be construed as a scam or a multi-level marketing opportunity by some people.I receive enough spam without wondering what the next message from Rootsweb will have as the subject. Many of us are very serious about our genealogy without being bombarded with get-rich quick schemes, religious messages ,or virus alerts.BReaves2@aol.com
