To my knowledge, the Carroll County courthouse burned down sometime in the early 1900s. My grandmother's birth in 1897 isn't available. I suggest you contact the county and possibly the state to find out if there are records extant. If you haven't found this site : www.vitalrec.com it is a great source of all the vital records offices in the country for state and county and some cities. I am researching the surnames of IVEY, CRAVEN and STRICKLAND lines of Carroll Co GA. Most of the families moved to Carroll County from Coweta Co GA. Please let me hear from you if you have any info on John Ivey, his wife Armine Leverett or his son John Lloyd Ivey and wife Mary E. Cook. Also researching John Craven b 1799 NC with wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth died in Carroll county in 1881. I am not certain where John died but family was living in Carroll in 1850. Then John either died or family lore says separated from Elizabeth. Also Henry Harrison Strickland and son John Mercer Strickland who married Lula Craven. Please contact me if you have any info on these families. All information is greatly appreciated. Jan

If anyone has anything on McKissick ( not sure of spelling) One of my Grandmothers sisters married Dr Malone at Mt Zion and they lived in the house that is in the intersection of the road that goes back to Bowden Junction from the Mt Zion Rd.
