I would appreciate any help in learning more about the family of Jackson C. PARKER who was listed in the 1880 Carroll Co. GA census as family 113 in the 3rd District (or 1297 GMD). Jackson is listed with wife, S.C., and children Lonzo (son), and daughters Ina(or Ira) L. and Cora E. I still must check the 1900 and 1910 census records for them. On the 1920 Carroll Co. GA census, Jackson is listed as age 73 years enumerated with Charlie H. SMITH, his father-in-law. The son, Alonzo B. PARKER, has a marriage shown in the Carroll Co. GA marriage records, to Cora L. SPARKS on 6 September 1903. Jackson C. PARKER, born about 1848/1849 in GA, is the son of Jethro N. PARKER and his wife, Mary Ann BROWN. Jethro N. is the son of Allen and Nancy PARKER. Jackson's wife, S.C., was born in GA about 1847/1848. Birth years for the children were: Alonzo B., born abt 1874 in GA; Ina or Ira L., born about 1876 in GA; and Cora E., born abt 1879 in GA. Thanks in advance! Kim

Does anyone on this list have information on the Jackson C. PARKER family of Carroll County? Jackson C., the son Jethro N. PARKER and Mary Ann BROWN, was born in abt 1847/48. The 1880 Carroll Co. GA census lists him in the 1297 GMD (3rd District), family #113. Jackson C. is listed as a 32 year old farmer born in GA. His wife is listed simply as S.C., age 33, housekeeper, born in GA. The children listed are Lonza B., son, age 6, Ira L., age 4 daughter, and Cora E., age 1 daughter. On 6 September 1903 in Carroll Co. GA, Alonzo B. PARKER married Cora L. SPARKS, daughter of William H. SPARKS and Elizabeth HOUSEWORTH. Cora SPARKS was born in September 1877. If you can help with this family, please let me know. Thank you. Kim
The daughter of William H. LASSETTER and Parthenia L. BROWN, Delona Oregon LASSETTER (b: 17 Jul 1847, Carroll Co. GA, d: 16 May 1929, Carroll Co. GA) married Joseph M. SPARKS on 11 December 1868 in Carroll Co. GA. They had the following known children: Lara E., Willie C., Lilla, Eugenia, Ida, Bartow Rufus, Guy and an unnamed infant that died at birth. Martha E. SPARKS (b: 9 Nov 1857, d: 6 Mar 1892 in Carroll Co. GA), daughter of William H. SPARKS and Elizabeth HOUSEWORTH, married William LASSETTER(B: 9 Aug 1854, D: 15 Nov 1892 in Carroll Co. GA). I believe that this William LASSETTER is the son of James T. and Elizabeth LASSETTER, but I don't know that for certain. The 1900 Carroll Co. GA shows 3 of the young LASSETTER couple's children, Dora (b: Sep 1886), Bessie (b: Aug 1890) and John M. (b: 17 Feb 1892) living with their grandparents, W.H. and Elizabeth SPARKS. From the death info, it is clear that both the parents, Martha and William were deceased by the time of the 1900 census. I am trying to find out more about the children of the two couples listed above. Also I would like to find out for certain if William (b: 1854 ) is indeed the son of James T. and Elizabeth Lassetter. If anyone on this mail list is searching the LASSITTER/LASSETTER line in Carroll County, GA and can help me find out further info on this, I would really appreciate it. I am not a LASSETTER descendant but am rather a SPARKS descendant. Thus I do not need further info on the Lassetter ancestry but do need further knowledge of the children and their descendants of those Sparks-Lassetter couples mentioned previously. Plus can anyone clarify for me how the Lassetter/Lasssiter/Lasiter families of Carroll County spell the surname now? Thank you. Kim
I am searching for information about Robert R. Cook. Born around 1795 in Georgia. Last known where-a-bouts is Carroll County Georgia, 1850 - 1880. Children by his first wife (unknown) are: Elijah F., Susannah, and George Washington Cook. His second wife was Hester Rooks. Looking for information about his parents. His father was born in North Carolina and his mother was born in Georgia. I don't know either of their names and I don't know where to look for them. Thanks for any help.
I am searching for any information pertaining to an Andrew J. Bowen born about 1819 in Georgia. I do not know where he was born at specifically, except Georgia. He was believed to be in Randolph County around 1840 to 1853? I believe that he was married to a lady from Alabama at this time. He later shows up on the 1860 Census of Carroll County, Georgia. His wife was a Mary Lee Hays from Early County, Georgia. He has the following children with him at this time: James Bowen born about 1846 in Alabama Lucinda Bowen born about 1848 in Alabama Christian C. Bowen born about 1854 in Georgia John L. Bowen born Sept. 27, 1855 in Georgia Nancy Bowen born about 1859 in Georgia Andrew Jackson Bowen Jr. born March 30, 1860 in Georgia Andrew Sr. married Mary Lee Hays on June 22, 1853. At this time he had two children with him. I believe that this was his second marriage. Andrew later joined the 35th Regiment, Company A-Georgia Volunteer Infantry-Army of Northern Virginia C. S. A. Haralson County, Georgia-Haralson Brown Guards on August 15, 1861. He later died in Richmond, Virginia on July 12, 1864 at war. He is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond. If anyone has any information pertaining to this individual please advise of such. Thank you, Cory Bowen.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! Charles
Is there anyone on this list who has a copy of the Carroll County, GA Cemetary book who would check and see if Jethro N. Parker is listed? The book is no longer in print so I can't buy a copy and unfortunately the Dallas Public Library doesn't have one. Someone e-mailed me some other info that mentioned Jethro's wife, Mary Ann Brown Parker, (listed in the cemetary book as M.A. Parker) is buried in the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetary in Carroll Co. I e-mailed back to find out if Jethro was buried there too but never heard back on that from the individual. Here is info on Jethro N. "Jetty" Parker: born abt 1815, marr. to Mary Ann Brown in Carroll Co. GA on 1 Nov 1838. Thats all I have for him. Wife Mary Ann was born 27 Oct 1816 and died 1 nov 1893 and as I mentioned above, is buried in Macedonia Prim. Bapt. Cemetary. I would certainly appreciate help on this. If you know how I could get my hands on one of those cemetary books, I would be forever grateful. If that doesn't work, if I could just get someone to do this lookup, I would still be a happy camper! Thanks! Kim Austin
