Sheryl, Candacy Burke was living with Mills Peel. But we haven't been able to find out if he adopted her. I feel she may have been his neice or maybe a granddaughter (?). I am related to Candacy on my paternal grandmother's side and Mills on my paternal grandfather's side. [Double relation here. :-)] There is a B. Heath who married John Hurst (b1765 in NC).
