Hello List, The following announcement is being posted with permission of the list owner. I am researching and writing my family history. I have always wanted to write and publish a cookbook, also. So, I thought, "Why not write a cookbook with a genealogy theme?" Boy, am I hooked on genealogy or what? Anyway, this is to announce the fact that I've already started preparing the cookbook. I would like to ask for your assistance and give you the opportunity to contribute your recipes, photographs, stories, etc. You will be given credit for your contributions. The recipes may be original or family recipes or anything from anyone and anywhere. How about family stories, childhood memories, stories about your best cooking experience or your worst cooking nightmare? Whatever! I want it to be interesting. I would like to make the theme "Family History". Any ideas along those lines would be appreciated. For instance, you may want to contribute your Pedigree Chart along with your recipes. Or maybe you would like to describe how your ancestors did their cooking. For instance, my mother cooked on a wood-burning stove. Both my grandmothers cooked in an open fireplace as young women and in later years they cooked on wood-burning stoves. <Details in the book.> How about Southern traditions, cooking habits, foods, etc.? Anyone else have any ideas? In addition to the wonderful recipes, the book will contain a special section with cooking information, helpful hints and much more. You may want to contribute to this, also. This book will make a nice keepsake or a great gift for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, Christmas, etc. Will those of you who are interested please submit your recipes as soon as possible? You may submit them via E-mail or snail mail. The sooner I get the recipes collected, the sooner I can get them to the publisher. The book will be professionally published and as far as I know at this time will cost $ 9.95 plus shipping & handling. I am not asking for orders at this time, however, if you wish to reserve a book now as some others have done, feel free to do so. Please do NOT reply to the list. Reply to ME at LIZGERLITS@AOL.COM.
