    3. Thanks very much-Sheryl -for the 1850 census record listings. I have the book by Rev. Lucas which gives these early census and other such early info from the Southern Historical Press. Also, Grave Markers in Burke Co. The Sarah who appears as the head of family #189 is Mark's widow, and the ones listed in the family must be related. [Frances is the wife of Thomas.] The wife of Oliver P. Byne, Carolina, is a daughter of Mark and Sarah Tarver- OHP and Caroline are my ancestors, the Sarah in that family is my great grandmother. Robenson Tarver is a son, and I thought Etheldred and John N. were others, though Etheldred is a common name in another line of Tarvers. What I need is a probate of Mark Tarver's estate or the land records of Tarvers in Burke Co and that part of Burke which became Jefferson Co., which indicate if Mark had been the previous owner and the land was passed on to his sons. Unfortunately, I understand most of the Burke Co records have been lost. My puzzle I have with Oliver Hazzard Perry Byne, the husband of Caroline Tarver, is who his parents were. I suspect they were Lewis Byne and Martha Harvey. Martha died leaving 4 or 5 chidren, according to her obit. Lewis was one of the many sons of Rev. Edmund Byne, of Hopeful Baptist Church in Burke Co. I thought William Byne was a bother of Oliver. He was called an <uncle> by my grandfather, but it appears that he is a cousin of OHP Byne , probably a son of <<General>> William Byne. >From the graveyard of the Hopeful church I put together who I thought were the other sons of Mark and Sarah Tarver, but at least one I thought was a son is not, which throws a question on the others. Through my query, I had hoped to find some descendants of Mark Tarver. But I know at least 2 sons went to Texas about the time of the War between the States. I appreciate your help. Thanks for taking time to send me the information.
