Roberts>> in the Hopeful Baptist Church cemetery in Burke Co., born 8 Sept 1845 and died 30 Mar 1881, who is most likely the above Lucius Roberts. Augustus Roberts' wife, Louisa, was a daughter of Dr. William M. Williams and his wife Evalina Beale, and granddaughter of Judge William Penn Beale. Augustus Roberts was an overseer of the Beale plantation in Burke Co. Louisa and her mother and grandfather are buried in a Richmond Co cemetery, sometimes called the Doyle Cemetery, but more properly should be called the Beale Family Cemetery. An article on this cemetery appeared in a publication of the Augusta Genealogical Society. At least one other child was born to Louisa and Augustus after the census of 1860. However, Loiusa died before 1870. If any one has the 1870 census for Burke Co. we would be most appreciative if they would trandscribe and send to us further entries for the Roberts family.
