    3. Dear John, I agree, but as you found early information helpful, that's what I am searching for too. My Lasseter's are listed in Hill's Book as early settlers of Burke Co. and I have a article in the Augusta Chronicle dated 1786, making him a JP. but I don't know where they were from before that and Jon's birth date of 1749 does not fit with the N.C or S.C. Lasseter's or the VA Lasseter's either. I was hoping someone who had the article would do look-ups so no one would have to purchase the article. I have checked with my local library and they don't have the book at all. Southern History is not a priority here. Unfortunately for me.
