I don't know that I will be much help either but My Colson's were in Md also only the dates are before yours. 1705 Sarah Colson m Archibald Adams. They like yours went to NC and Ga (not the same Co's though). Sarah's father is Thomas Colson and that is all I have on him. But he might be the father to your ancestor.
