Bob, I'm afraid there's not much before 1800, but here is what I have: English Crown Grants, St. George Parish Alday, Josiah.Granted on December 4, 1770. Grant Book I, page 212. 150 acres bounded on the southeast by John Thomas and on all other sides by Vacant land. There is also a Richard Allday who received a Headright or Bounty Grant of 73 acres in Burke Co. in 1806.Richard is also the only Allday listed on the 1805 Land lottery Register. English Crown Grants St. George Parish. Womack, Jesse, Oct 1769, been 4 years in Ga.,asks for 100 acres next John Emanuel, decd., Rich. Womack, John Roberts June 1770, granted 100 a. Womack, John, Mar. 1769, been 2 yrs. in Ga., asks for 100 a., Rocky Comfort Cr., next John Emanuel decd.; Sept 1771 granted 100 a. Womack, Richd., May 1768, some time in Ga., has purchased land, has 5 children and 7 slaves, asks for 150 a., next Peter Grant, John Emanuel; Sept 1768, been 3 yrs. in Ga., has wife 4 children and 6 slaves, asks for 300 a., 1 mi. of his land; Mar 1769, granted 300 a., next John Emanuel; Mar 1769, asks for 250 a., Rocky Comfort Cr. and Duhart's Cr.; Apl. 1769, granted 300 a.; May 1769 granted 250 a. Headright and Bounty Grants Womack, David received a grant of 100 acres in 1796 " Jas. rec'd 100 acres in 1787 " Jno. rec'd 199 acrs in 1799 " Wm. rec'd 80 acres in 1798 All were in Burke Co. except Jno., whose grant was in Jefferson Co. There is an Ann Allday listed as a property owner on the 1798 Tax Digest. Hope this is some help to you.
