3. I regret that so many of the listmembers are unable to access the MOA (Making of America) site via a search engine! We have never had that problem and consequently do not bookmark the url. However, due to the large number of folks who had difficulties and who wrote to tell me so, I typed in MOA (in Lycos and askJeeves.com) in order to obtain an url. Here are those results: http://moa.cit.cornell.edu/MOA/MOA-JOURNALS2/WARO.html Fred

    2. Service records of the Infantry Regiments may be found in Henderson's Roster of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia. I have a note on my website regarding the 21st Cavalry Battalion NOTE: Organized Summer l862; merged with 7th GA Cav (which see) Spring l864. There was also a 21st Cavalry State Guards. Little is known about either of these units. John Rigdon The Civil War in Georgia http://www.researchonline.net/gacw

    2. A more concise (than the War of the Rebellion volumes) look at Confederate units can be found in the "Compendium of the Confederate Armies" by Stewart Sifakis. It is a 7? volume set, treating all the units from each CSA state. For each military unit the book gives its commanders, campaigns, and battle engagements. Probably one to two pages per unit only. This book gives a quick look at a unit, while the War of the Rebellion books give great detail. Nancy Mann

    2. Click here: Statesboro - Bulloch County Regional Library http://lcomcorp.com/Library Some 18 years ago, she first volunteered her services to our Library. She volunteered as an assistant to ride on the Bookmobile. As she was riding through the rural areas of the county, she saw the many old cemeteries and realized that they needed to be surveyed before all the tombstones records were lost. She, along with other DAR members and friends, began a survey of Bulloch Cemeteries. This project eventually resulted in her publication of: 6 Volumes of Cemeteries Records of Bulloch County. Since her first project, Hulda Kelly has not been idle! Her dedication and accomplishments have been extraordinary. She continues to volunteer and work five mornings a week on genealogical projects at the Library. Here is a list of her mammoth contributions. She has transcribed and published the following: 20 Volumes - Bulloch County Censuses - 1900, 1910,&1920. 12 Volumes - Births, Deaths, & Marriages from Bulloch County Newspapers from 1899-1946. 1 Volume - Bulloch County Deed Book 5 - 1819-1840. I must definitely note that she has painstakingly indexed all these volumes, too! This task is probably as difficult as the transcribing. We should note that in all these books, not one helped Hulda in her own family research. Here generosity is doubly felt. After producing all this fine body of material. Mrs. Kelly has given the publishing rights to the Statesboro Library. Her stipulation is that all profits derived from the sale of her books be used to buy additional materials for the genealogical collection. In my opinion, family researchers for our area of Georgia owe a great deal to Hulda Kelly. She, more than any person I know, had done most in promoting genealogy research. We are indeed spoiled because of her good works! She has made our research easier and simpler.
