I will look out for any information pn the Leonards, Patricks and Brewers as I do my research. Good Luck
In these very popular counties of the time in Georgia, I am researching the families of the late 1700's-early 1800's. PATRICKS, BREWERS amd LEONARD: . PAUL and ANN MILIKIN PATRICK and children, BURWELL and ELIZABETH PATRICK BREWER and children, and RODERICK and RICHARD LEONARD. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. Through a very informed person, I do have substantial information on the Patricks and Brewers, but have absolutely no information on the Leonards, except that they in some way were associated with both families. I am hunting the parents of these two Leonards and hoping I find that they are the grandchildren of Burwell and Elizabeth Brewer. I am also seeking information on one of their daughters, REBECCA BREWER b. 1768 in N.C.? It has been said that she married a LEWIS and raised a famil;y in BURKE CO. Ga. I believe that statement to be a mistake and that she married my 2nd great grandfather, JACOB LEONARD and raised a family in Randolph Co. N.C. They may have moved with the Brewers to Ga. in the late 1700's, but returned to N.C. in 1794 as that is when the first land sale Jacob made that I can find. It is also a possibility that they may have lived in Burke Co. Ga. for a short while. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Mary Leonard Stephenson masdal@ala.net
HI Everyone, I am new to the list and I look forward to much help locating my Georgia link to FL Spears families. John SPEARS, born abt. 1809 in GA, moved with his family before 1830 to Walton Co. FL. There were two Spears households in Walton at that time--John SPEARS and James SPEARS. John is the son of either James or John, but there is no way to know from the Census data. The Spears famiies likely came from NC to GA, after 1790. They were closely associated with KNIGHT, GRIFFIN and maybe PARISH. John (1809) married Malinda GRIFFIN, I believe to be the daughter of John GRIFFIN. This is not much to go on, but please help me out. Send inquires directly to me at pfspears@aol.com as well as directly to the list, if of value to everyone. Use this email address for weekends, please. Pat
Hello everyone, I too am new to this list.. I am looking for a paticular Tipton that was born in Buke Co supposedly on 6, Jan 1839.. I know the initials of R. M. Tipton are on his death cert, and all other legal papers.. I have found a Rueben Tipton in the 1850 Ga Census in Burke County he has a child named Romeo, Now if this is my Tipton I can understans why he goes only by initals.. But any one out there have any connections... Thanks Bunches Mollie Simpson
This is an update to let everyone know that my cookbook is coming along nicely. I've received many delicious recipes, some genealogy, history, stories, a few photos, etc. from many wonderful people. Thanks to all of you, I think this will be a really nice book. It will be more than a "recipe" book, which was my aim. Of course, I've added my own personal touches that I hope will be of interest to everyone. The book will have at least 200 recipes. I don't know exactly how many pages at this point in time, but a rough guess would be 200 pages or more. I am still accepting recipes and whatever anyone would care to contribute to my book. You may email or snail mail them to me. I am hoping to get it together and send it to the publisher within the next few weeks. The publisher will typeset it, send it back to me for proofreading and I'll send it back to them to be printed. All of this could take 4-6 months. I am now accepting payment for my cookbook. For those who have already reserved books, please send payment to me at the address listed below. For those who have patiently been waiting for me to begin taking orders, you may send payment along with your orders to the address listed below, also. Check or money order, please. NO CASH. The cost per book is $ 9.95 plus $ 3.80 for postage making a total of $ 13.75. Please do NOT reply to the list. Reply to me PRIVAYELY at DLizgerlits@aol.com. Thank you and Happy Easter! Hi Harvey. Have I asked you this before? Is there a Young marriage to your Knight line way back, c. 1760's maybe? Or earlier? Also, are you familiar with a John Knight, who, in 1794, gave some property to Mrs. Mary Henderson and her minor children, Anne, Mysey, Mary, Sarah, children of Zachariah Henderson? Recorded in Deed Book C & D, page 190, Effiingham County, GA? I missed the original question on Hopeful Baptist Church. My husband's g-grandmother and grandmother attended Hopeful Baptist Church in Green's Cut.. Does the church survive? Is there a cemetery attached? Looking for Daniel Golphin (1830?-189?) Daniel appears in the 1870 and 1880 census, but not in the 1900 census. Looking for Amelia Golphin (1834-1932) and Eliza Golphin Smith (possibly Beal) 1863-193?) Hi Marge - Do you -or anyone- know if a survey of these was made before they were destroyed? Our particular interest lies in that the GRESHAMS, also linked to King and Queen Co VA, were related by marriage to the BYNES. Thanks.
